Santa Maria Grill - weekend 2

I had some other things I had to do Saturday morning so didn't get started until afternoon.


Base welded together and shelves and handle pieces cut.

I didn't realize it was late, ran out of paint, when I called Ace Hardware they were already closed.

Fire grate pieces all cut.

What it will look like when it's welded together.

Pieces fabricated to regulate the combustion air holes, stainless for the cooking grate and hardware for the crank.

A couple of different angles of the fire box sitting on the base.

In the last hour of daylight I sanded all the sharp edges and rounded the corners of the fire box.

More next weekend, hopefully I can do my precook burn,

Thanks all for the kind, respectful words, I'm kinda sorry it's about finished, I prefer working with steel over wood, ...gonna burn the oil off of the firebox Saturday in preparation to paint, also I guess it's mandatory that I burn some meat, can't waste a good bed of coals.
