Quick dinner: Chops and sides

Just had the mesh pulled out of my head after nasal surgery and I feel like a new man. I can smell again, I can breathe easily out of my nose and life is great. For the past year or so I could only vaguely pick up the taste of delicious smokey grilled meat. And here we have a quick dinner I threw together tonight. I'm no photographer and my camera is quite old, but these were some tasty chops. Enjoy. Here is a direct link to the imugr album if I mess up uploading the photos: http://imgur.com/a/v4Lim

The adult chops were only seasoned with Webers Kicken Chicken spice, and the kid's chops were S&P only.

I like your yard- - looks like you got better just in time. Do those grates require any special care so they don't rust?

Darn it, I deleted the post I wrote. I struggle with touch screens. Anyway, thanks for the kind words everyone.

Clint, the grates will get some surface rust on them if they aren't used for an extended period. It's usually just a little surface rust that is easily brushed off. I usually just preheat, brush, and oil them and they stay well seasoned. I bought these back when they first came out, very happy with the purchase. A little more work to keep in shape, but I also use a few cast iron pans in the kitchen on a regular basis. So to me it's just part of the routine.

I do keep the original hinged grate around for turkeys and other big hunks of meat. It's just quicker and easier to flip the side up and add coals.

Awesome looking chops and the plated pic is great. Glad to hear your feeling better, now enjoy that back yard cooking.

I bet that smelled and tasted great because I'm sure it was and it's great to hear you can taste and smell again.
