Pork chops on the Performer

Mrs A had a couple of pork chops all ready when i walked in the door last night - about to hit the frying pan!
So I suggested firing up the Performer - and off we went...

Here they are marinading in garlic, thyme, chili flakes, lemon juice, lemon rind, paprika, salt & pepper and olive oil

And to go with them - a batch of button mushrooms filled with Steven Raichlens bacon n onion butter and topped with bread crumbs
if you haven't ever made bacon butter - please give it a go - you'll love it (of course...)

and here are the chops during grilling...one charcoal basket the perfect size for two chops!

came off nice and juicy and the flavours (flavors) were awesome

and i forgot to add - picked up a 'beater' 22.5 One Touch on eBay last weekend - for the grand price of £1.20 (just under $2)
it was headed to the dump with the previous owner - but just needs a leg straightened and a handle or two
ideal as a host for my rotisserie - keeps the performer free!!

Chris - great job saving those chops from cruel and unusual punishment in a frying pan. The marinade sounds great. I'm off in search of a recipe for bacon and onion butter...

Regards,

John

I LOVE coming home and being handed some meat to cook for dinner! You handled the task nicely, Chris.
yeah, I WISH that'd happen to me
