Pork Butt @ 174* and still no stall

I'm smoking my first pork butt today in my 22.5" Weber Kettle. It's now been on for almost 7 hours and 30 mins, with the grill staying between 225* and 240* for the majority of the time. The butt is currently sitting at 174* with the grill at 232* but has not yet reached the well-known stall. Should I be worried? Thanks!

The YMMV advice is sound. How big of a butt?

PS I put my Maverick ET-732 probe in my 8 lb'er yesterday, and it was in stall for 3-4 hours. Not the norm for me.

Looks like it's hit a bit of a stall now. Been between 174 and 176 for the past two hours. Butt is 7.75 lbs. And no worries... I'm having a few adult beverages while watching Tiger lap the field at the Bridgestone. Thanks folks!

Had the same issue with mine this weekend. I usually get a stall around 160 but this one went up to 180 like a champ.
Thought I might not have one at all then it stuck on 180 for 3 hours.

Nice job! Looks great. That's the kind of bark you get from not foiling.

I never foil either. Foiling just speeds up the cooking and ruins the bark in the process. If you are not cooking in a competition with a time limit, I don't understand why anyone foils. If you pick a good marbled butt, moisture is never going to be an issue anyway.

Nice job on the cook!

i liked the foiled pulled pork better than when i didn't foil it. What's the point of the bark if you are shredding it? I foiled in a pan and was able to add apple juice, rub and honey and it was great.

Yea, mine wasn't entirely shredded either. More pulled and a bit of chunks, especially for the burnt ends. It ended up better than I could have imagined, especially being my first time. I can't wait for the wings/ribs I'm doing this weekend.
