Pimento pepper burgers

I was downloading a camera card and ran across these from about 20 days ago that I'd sort of forgotten about. It was a late evening cook, with some fresh corn from the patch and heirloom tomatoes and peppers out of the garden. Here's some sweet corn cooking and a quick sear on some slices of orange pepper.

I needed some egg yolk to help bind my hamburger together, which in a fortunate coincidence provided me with egg whites to make a Ramos Gin Fizz. (or 2)

Time to just observe the magic happening for a minute or two.

Getting close. Please pardon my fail in losing a little bit of hamburger on the grate when flipping these.

On the plate, with pimento cheese and a slice of tomato.

Here's a bite.

And a fun ride I took about that same time, when we were spraying fungicide on soybeans. Nothing like hopping on a 737 and taking Southwest to Vegas- if you don't like the feeling of topping a roller coaster right before it starts to descend and pick up speed, you sure wouldn't enjoy spraying in a helo. But it's quite an experience!

Looks fun! and they call that work :)

The gin fizz - I had to google that

It's an amazing cocktail. I had wanted to try making them for a long time but never could find orange blossom water. Then one day I searched for the stuff on Amazon- duh!!!! Had it on my front steps in short order.
