"Pig Claws" just in time for the game

I have always been jealous of Harry Soo's onion rings and I have made a few attempts of wrapping bacon around an onion ring, but they never looked that good.

So I have the idea of taking an onion and just cutting it into wedges.

Which is much easier to wrap in bacon. I used thin sliced bacon.

Of course I went indirect on the 26er with some hickory for smoke. Yes I do need to replace the foil on my charcoal grate.

And ready to eat, yes I did remove the toothpick before serving.

The ladies of the house really enjoyed this app with the bacon, onion and smoke they were very good. AND...the perfect size for dipping!

I kind of kicked around a name for this app and it was either "pig claws" or "pig fingers", but your guest will call them "darn good".

Enjoy your weekend all!

I had the same problem with rings, pig tails like yours look just about right to me!
Don't know if I will have time for them today but, SOON!

James, I have some poppers ready to go on the E320 this afternoon. I wish I had seen this earlier because I would have done some. Will have to wait till next week but thanks for sharing this great idea.
