One of Our Favorites

We really like sausage with penne. Posted a similar cook a month or so ago, so just move on if it's a "been there, seen that" kind of thing for you. This was our Christmas eve meal that Surfer Dude and I prepared while my bride and her mom went to Mass.
Fixin's for the sauce standing by.

Started with onion and garlic sauté.

Then added the diced Roma tomatoes with various herbs (basil, thyme, maybe some others). KS&P goes without saying....

While the sauce simmered, grilled some hot Italian sausage.

Sausage sliced and into the sauce.

Plated with some garlic bread.

Wine was a Spanish tempranillo.
