Older Brothers

Sometimes they are good to have around I guess. Especially if you are debating on getting your first smoker and cannot decide what to do. And then decide to use it the first time to smoke ten racks of ribs for 40 people at your Labor Day Party. I know, Kid Brothers, what ya going to do.
Told him what to read and view on the web, told him how to trim the full pork ribs he bought instead of the St. Louis cut I told him to get then drove out at 0730 to teach him how to get his WSM 22.5 started and control the temps. He screwed up the trimming but did manage to get the layer off the back side OK
Forgot how touchy they are temp wise when you first start with a new one.

Got her settled in, told him how to monitor it

Ribs on, left him to tend the rest of the cook and he did fine for his first time. Went home and came back in the afternoon with the CEO and had a great meal and a few nice cocktails with good friends and family

The proud new WSM owner and my Brother enjoying his handiwork.

Ribs were juicy and tender thanks to someone handing him a toothpick before I left and telling him not to pull them until that pick slid in with no resistance.

Looks like your brother is a quick learner, Bill. The ribs look fantastic! Thanks for sharing!

Bill you are a great mentor! Ribs look delicious! Now when are you going
to get your brother to join the rest of us BBQ addicts? ;)

I'd probably be dead if it wasn't for my big brothers. Mind you I could have died a couple times because of them too. Great first cook.

Ribs look good! :wsm:

My brother has no patience in learning how to smoke :(
He is happy with grilled fast food.

Ah yes, another one drawn to the Dark Side...<insert evil laugh here>! Seriously, though, great job showing your brother the way of the WSM.
