Just to clarify, we don't have an "Other Non-Meat" section, we have an "Other Main Dishes" section defined as, "Pizza, pasta, lasagna, casseroles, or other main courses that do not fit neatly into Pork, Beef, Poultry, Seafood, or Other Meats."
When I started the forum back in 2000, I adopted the typical recipe categorization of that time and tossed everything "vegetable" into "Side Dishes". I know that has changed in many ways and that vegetable-based dishes can be the star of the show and not just a side.
In 2013, I started a subforum called Healthy Grilling. I kept it open for 5 years and closed it in 2018, moving its posts into the Grilling forum. It never got much traction, it got a few posts from members managing diabetes and heart disease. (Most are still alive and kicking, I think!)
It's always a challenge to decide how granular to get with forums. The more forums you have, the more overwhelming it can appear when scanning the homepage. Too few forums and that's not good, either. In the past, when I've seen a surge in actual posting about a subject, I've created a new forum and moved existing posts into it. That would be my tendency here, too.
One way to begin to address this is to post vegetarian main dishes (especially grilled one, but not exclusively) in the Other Main Course Recipes forum and tag them "vegetarian" and "meatless". If we get a good number of them, it will be easy to move them into a new forum using the tags.
Thanks for your idea, Bruce. I'm always looking to make the forums more useful.
P.S. I checked and we don't have a single post or recipe tagged "vegetarian" or "meatless".
