I agree, my no frills Camp Chef has been through hundreds of trouble free cooks. No software/firmware upgrades needed. In some things less is best. I have one TW Smoke that monitors all my grills, works great and simple to use.As a Traeger user since 2013, I've watched Traeger themed forums and seen complaint after complaint about the Timberline and many other models. It got so bad a couple of years ago that they introduced a whole new product line, although most of it was cosmetic differences (PR), it appears. While the complaints aren't dominating the forums as they did before, they're still rolling in. The biggest problem I see with pellet grills in general, and Traeger in particular, are with programming and connectivity issues. I know you're old school too and understand that more fluff leads to more problems. If my old no frills Li'l Tex Elite ever needs replacement, which I doubt, you can bet it will be with another no frills model.
Plus still have money leftover and a lifetime warranty. One could get a MAK for that kind of coin!
Those are some damn fine looking smokers.Get something other than a toy.

I still wouldn’t part with $3700 plus tax for that grill. In action with Malcom Reed:
I agree on the overkill with all of the layers of seasoning, my guess it's just to create a "Wow" factor for his YT followers.I still wouldn’t part with $3700 plus tax for that grill.
And why the 100 layers of seasoning and sauce on ribs? I just don’t get it.
