New Grill toy

Nice, I looked into one of those a while back. They are suppose to be awesome grills, keep us posted on your thoughts on it!!

She's a beauty Russ!
My niece's husband in OK has one and wouldn't cook on anything else.
Most charcoal cookers in OK are probably Hasty Bake.

Maybe you already knew this but HB lump charcoal is made by Ozark Oak.
I'm heading out soon to pick up a couple of bags of OO, it's great stuff.

That Hasty looks like a prime candidate to have a rotisserie added to it one of these days Russ.

Got a new grill toy today. Been looking at them for a while. Can't wait to start using it.[/URL
Out of the box

Got a free bag of lump with it too
And best of all it's made in the USA
Plan on breakin' it in tomorrow with a pulled pork.
To be continued
Russ
It is confirmed I AM a lump alcoholic head. This is only the bags that are open. Would also have Dragons Breath but it's on back order.

The lower tray is the ash tray. The upper tray is the charcoal bin. Both pull out as needed to add charcoals or wood. Very slick way to add charcoals, works very well.

Just poured some lit lump in the center of the charcoal bin. Will set it up for indirect grilling.

This unit has a metal deflector for indirect cooking. Just slide it over the lump, slide the tray in and you are ready to go.
Yea, were having fun now. By the way, OO& hasty bake lump have a flippin' fantastic smell. I would like to burn it in the house. LOL
Got a pork roast ready to go on Mr. Hasty. That is what I named her.
Deb rubbed the roast last night with McCormick Grill Mates Memphis Pit BBQ.

And into Mr. Hasty for the day.
To be continued later today.

Part 2
Checked the roast after 5 or so hours. Gave it a spritz with some AJ.
Lookin' guud so far.
The weather changed & we foiled it for a few hours. After 2 hours gave it a temp check. Ready to pull off.
Brought it in and let it rest while the fries were cooking. Notice the steam coming off of the meat.
Looks & tasted delicious.
All pulled and ready to eat.
And here is your plate. All in all the meat was very moist and had good flavor. Mr. Hasty did a guud job for it's 1st cook.

All in all a great little unit. That is their smallest & cheapest unit. They have ones that are twice the size and have glass so that you can watch your meat cooking. I consider these units to more like a Weber and that they are affected by rain and cool weather. I can imagine opening the charcoal door with a 30-40 mile wind blowing directly onto the coals. Look out! Oh well i guess that is why i own a green egg for foul weather days. But for nice weather days it is a fine lump charcoal burning smoker grill. so give one a try and add it to your Weber collection. It's all guud in the end. I love to BBQ on different type grills. I think that it makes me a better grill'r in the end.
thanks for looking,
Russ & Deb
