New Grill - First Cook

I picked up a free Q200 this past weekend, and, while it's far from "done", I got it cleaned up enough to give it a whirl with some chicken. Just dusted the chicken with some Fajita'ish from Dizzy Pig, then cooked it over medium-low flame for about 35-40 minutes, flipping every six or so.

Just on:

The chicken turned out great, and I enjoyed cooking on this powerhouse of a "portable" grill. I think the Q will be a great addition to my set of grills, especially for workday lunches, quick weeknight meals, and as a second (or third) grill for those bigger "all on the grill" menus.

Keep on cookin'!

Thanks, Clint, I really like it. It may get an SF Giants themed paint job at some point. The grill came with the Weber hose attachment to use the full size tanks, and I've had the OPD issue in the past, so have always been in the habit of just going slowly with the valves. That's a good reference thread (bookmarked) in case I run into any issues. For now, after having put a safety pin through each hole on the burner, it's burning hot and clean off the big tank.

Congrats on the new grill. Killer new grill cook too

Thanks, Chuck!

Great looking chicken Rich. I just picked up a Q1200 today, cooked a pork chop on it and it came out great. Looking forward to cooking some more on it.

We had a baby q it cooked well but was to small. The 2000 looks like a perfect size for two or three people, along with some perfect looking chicken, nice first cook Rich.

Great looking chicken. Looks like you got a great grill for the right price. Gassers are real handy upon occasion.
