Just a couple of days ago, my sweet bride put the kabosh on my bbq plans and said she wanted to order in Thai-Food. What the lady wants, the lady gets. But, I was bored, so I "invented" a new cocktail. It's a mash up of a Mint-julep and a Manhattan, hence the name Mint-Mannie. I'm sure someone else has made this before, I just have no idea who or when
Here's what I did;
I took about 15 or so medium to small fresh mint leaves and put them in the bottom of my shaker. Then to make some simple syrup, I put about 8 to 10 drops of liquid stevia extract into 4 ounce cold water to make "simple syrup". I filled my shaker about half way with ice, put in 4 oz of simple syrup, and 3 oz of rye whisky, and 3 or 4 drops of bitters, and then I shook it like it owed me money. As you can see in the photo, I served "neat" in a Martini glass just for fun. On the rocks would certainly work too. Next time I'll probably go with a full 4 oz of Rye. Give it a try if you need to change up your beverage routine.
