NC version of cookin' in the snow / cold

Have not been around much folks - too busy at home and work. I do try to skim through all the photos and great posts. This place remains a great inspiration thanks to all of you posting and keeping it alive! We in North Carolina have finally had our share of cold weather - including some snow today. I wasn't planning on a cook - we already had pizza and sides from a take out earlier in the day. But I got to thinking about how so many of you have posted your cooks from the frigid locales up north and thought - what the heck - I need to do something.

Pulled an 80/20 patty from the freezer, seasoned up with Lawry's SS and went out to get things going. Very cold for us!

The grills were covered except for the JJ...as you can see, less than an inch of snow to contend with...

Got the mini chimney ready with KBB. Liked this pic with a Weber Starter cube in the snow

And here is your action shot - burger topped with Colby jack.

Overall really nothing special - more than anything I just wanted to join the "grill in the snow" club.

Thanks for looking and have a great week!

Thanks for sharing. :)

That's something I have never done. Grilled in the snow or snowing.

Quit bragging Tony!!

Jim...you made the best of it!! Bet your burger was awesome and you are part of an elite group of winter grill cooks!

Nice!

Tony time for you to start. Go down to your local cold storage bring your Weber. Sit in the freezer. Have Maribel scrape the frost off the ceiling ( to get you in the mood) so it falls on you. Then put a huge fan out so it blows right at you to get the windchill -10 to -20 below zero...snap photos :)

Jim, thanks for jumping on the SLED!
-33 this morning!
Jim I actually think it drives us to cook, since I can not control Mother Nature.....but I can control what I choose to do....
I choose to do a Feel Good Smoke (food).
Nice cook buddy, hope we all get back to our normal temps soon!
