My favorite burgers

I've done these burgers several times now and have come to love them. Pretty easy to do, but they are amazing.

I mix in a little homemade bbq sauce in with the meat when making the patties. The sauce is a beer reduction bbq sauce made with New Belgium 1554 beer (recipe found here). I then spread a little more sauce on when cooking.

While those are cooking, inside we make some battered and fried onion straws and a blue cheese spread. Which consists of Mayo, blue cheese crumbles, red wine, salt, pepper, and garlic.

After the burgers have cooked most the way over direct heat, I move them to indirect and baste them with more sauce to get that glazed effect.

Assembly from bottom to top:
bun, blue cheese spread, lettuce, pattie, bacon, onions, bun

plated with some fresh honey dew melon (which was fantastic! picked the right one finally!), and a pasta salad the wife made.

Thanks for looking.

Dang.....that is what I want for lunch, if I push the melon off my plate I have room for another burger. :o Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Awesome sauce recipe! 1554 is one of my favorite beers. Will be trying that out this weekend.

Joe, it's great to glaze ribs with too. I just love the look i get with it once it glazed over. Plus it tastes amazing. I used to love Sweet baby rays, but now I can't use it anymore.
