Could I have a clear coat professionally applied ?

No, clear coat is paint. It's not going to hold up very long. Porcelain is actually a glass coating which is a lot more durable.

You probably can Mark. But unless it is porcelain based, I don't think it would be nearly as durable as the bare porcelain.
