Low-n-Slow Beef Ribs

Jim Lampe

TVWBB 1-Star Olympian
Just under 6 pounds of beef back ribs. I marinated overnight in Stubb's Beef Marinade.
I haven't tried this before so I'm hoping they turn out tasty. These photos were taken after two hours at 225-235' on the WSM. Planning on them being on two more hours... but we'll see.

Those look good, Jim. I love the flavor of beef ribs. One of these days I'm gonna try to get 'em tender like Ray Lampe does and beer braise 'em after smoking. Tender or not, I'm sure they'll be super.

S'ok Bob, I still cheer for the Braves since they did come from Milwaukee via Boston.
But, today is Aaron's day and he and the Pack will prove they can go to the SB without 4vre

Forgive my ignorance, but are these beef ribs the same thing left over from a ribeye roast, or do they come from a different part of the cow?

Hey Jim - Great looking job. You mentioned low and slow and I did notice the foil in some of your beautiful pics. Can I assume you foiled them after a time and did you sauce them at the end? Really a nice looking cook Jim with a great smoke ring - Thanks for the sharing the pics. Bob

Thanks Bob... I cooked these BR's about 225-235' for nearly 4 hours. I used peacan wood for smoke the first hour or so (about 4 good size chucks). I only covered them in foil after I removed them from the WSM until everything else was ready to serve. I did not sauce them at all, the colour and flavour is directly from the Stubb's Beef Marinade I used on them overnight.
I too was amazed at the ring, like, "I'm Not Eeting These Until I Snap A Photo Or Two"

But I did cook two small racks and I do have leftovers (which I find very hard to believe!)

I bought these just yesterday morning at local Sendik's and the only two packages they had. Going back tomorrow to get more if they have em.

Those look amazing. I've used Stubb's pork marinade and I love it, but I haven't tried the beef. After getting all excited over THIS gorgeous food pr0n, I'll be trying it now!

Great looking beef ribs Jim. Would you use the Stubbs again and marinate them or would you do something different?.
I just got back from Wallmart, there beef ribs were $1.58/lb.
NO MEAT ON THE BONES.I think I have to make the drive to Sendik's. I big guy like you and you could'nt eat all of them....Are you sick!!!

Very outstanding ribs Jim!!

Wondering if anyone reading this post has tried Costco's cry-pack beef ribs?
Heading there Wed., and after looking at Jim's, I must have some BR's soon!!
Loved the few that I've made in the past, but it's hard to find meaty ones

In the past when I went to Sendik's and they didn't have any beef back ribs in the case, they would cut some for me while I waited. Nice and meaty too. No boney fingers.

How much does Sendik's charge for beef ribs?
I know their pork ribs are high.

Hey Jim, Wow! Those look soooo meaty. Never done beef ribs on the WSM before. Gotta talk to my local butcher and get me some.

It's been a while since I bought some but $2.49/lb or $2.99/lb seems to ring a bell.

"Would you use the Stubbs again and marinate them" Yes, absolutely!
...and Mike, you're right, Sendiks rarely has beef ribs, I just happen to be there at the correct time, only two packs so I bought em up.
Chuck, these were only 99CENTS lb!! Had to buyem!
Went back last night to see if they had any more (i'm STILL hungry) butt he said no, he'll save me the racks this for weekend when he cuts his rib-eyes

Honestly, when I found them there Saturday morning, it was like finding a hundred dollar bill on the sidewalk
