Grilled up a few lobster tails. These were huge. Some melted butter and a few beers made for a great evening.

Really nice...I haven't had lobster in ages!

So you started them on the shell first and then flipped them?

That looks really good.

Lobster is one of the few available meats I have not grilled or smoked. I hear the price is down, so this spring may be the time to try it.

I fixed whole live lobster for my g/f on her birthday. While it turned out awfully good, a lot of work, and claws aside, we both prefer the tails. I'll pick up frozen cold water tails and grill them off instead, 80-90% of the lobster for about 5-10% of the work.

Ray, those do look awfully good. I don't see claws in the cooler, are those lobster or langoustine?

These are spiny tail lobsters 11 pounds in total. Tails account for roughly 33% of body weight. We bought these while on vacation in Tobago. The cooler in the picture is a full size cooler. Local fisherman charged us $53 dollars for them. Swimming to the grill in a couple hours = delicious.
