Jerky for Nurse Maggie and Meatloaf for Me!

Our son was here to work on my truck recently, and I sent him home with some of my jerky.
The next day our daughter-in-law, Maggie, sent me a text saying:
"This beef jerky is so yummy!!"
I said:
So he did share it with you?
She said:
"I got a few pieces"
So I decided to make enough for her, and for her to share with her fellow 12 hour shift working nurse friends.

One of two grates after a 5 hour smoke:

Then into a dehydrator:

Done:

Sliced:

Will deliver it tomorrow when we go to their house for dinner.

Jo doesn't like meatloaf, so this one is all mine!
Add-ins include onion, dill pickles, and Hatch chile sauce.

My meatloaf topper is also good dashed into a Bloody Mary.

This morning's Meatloaf Egg McBob.

Topped with an orange heirloom tomato.

WOW!!! Bob that jerky looks awesome but that meatloaf Egg McBOB is to die for. Never thought to do that with my meatloaf, guess I'll have to make another and try it. Thanks for the idea.

Everything looks spectacular Bob. Love the meatloaf. Glad your daughter in law got a special treat. Anyone who has had an extended stay in the hospital knows what a difficult job nurses have and can appreciate their care and concern while performing these duties.

That all looks great. I love the hatch chilies in the meatloaf, great idea. I've always wanted a dehydrator, I'm just afraid I would consume way to much jerky.
