Interesting concept. Cooking space would be nice but those ss performer carts are a little low. I had my 18” WSM in one for awhile but it was a bit of a pain…

Yeah, what is that all about? I’ve been thinking about the height and since the brackets to mount the kettle to frame are well below the “equator” the grate height might be better than originally thought. Just a thought.
 
So for those inquiring minds that want to know about this, I did widen a Gen2/3 Performer frame and it was like the pictures above that Eric V posted. I found it awkward to cook with and it took up as much space as my Whalen King Kettle. I’m an SSP guy and shortly after finishing this project I found a couple more SSP frames along with another 26’r in a wood table, so it also got the SSP treatment. I’m no fan of the tripod frame for the 26’rs. I’m admittedly a pit hack but take pride in my work and document the builds on my FB page Left Hand Smoke so feel free to check it out

Y'all need to check out more of Brian's handywork
before trying to clown on him. He's one the craftiest guys
you will ever find on the grill pages and also one of the
most helpful should you ever run into a problem.
