Been Crappy here. Snow, rain, wind. So I decided to fire up the can cooker and cook up a 7 bone roast. I marinated the roast for 3 days in Worcestershire, and Deschutes Black Butte Porter with garlic, salt & pepper.

Into the can with new potatoes, carrots, celery, sliced up walla walla sweet, and 6 smashed cloves of garlic. Dump the marinade into the can. Put the lid on and fire up the stove. Two hours later awesomeness!

I also made red lobsta knock off biscuits. Here is the basic recipe. I added 1/4 cup grated Parmesan, rosemary, thyme, sage, and fresh parsley. I used 2% milk because that's what we had.

Biscuit recipe

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, optional
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
For the topping:
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley leaves
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat; set aside.

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, garlic powder, salt and cayenne pepper, if using.

In a large glass measuring cup or another bowl, whisk together buttermilk and butter. Pour mixture over dry ingredients and stir using a rubber spatula just until moist. Gently fold in cheese.

Using a 1/4-cup measuring cup, scoop the batter evenly onto the prepared baking sheet. Place into oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.

For the topping, whisk together butter, parsley and garlic powder in a small bowl. Working one at a time, brush the tops of the biscuits with the butter mixture.

Almost forgot made a simple gravy from the juices in the can, butter and corn starch. Good stuff!

That's a plate of perfect comfort food. Just what you need on a lousy weather day. Biscuits look great too, can't wait till Barb sees them.

Thank you Rich! Better make a double batch of the biscuits. I had to hide two of them so I could have them with the leftover gravy and a sunny side up egg!

Case, outstanding cook and those Biscuits WOW!!! Going to make a copy of the recipe to be making next week. Yummy. Thanks for sharing.

Great looking cook there case. I may have to swipe that biscuit recipe. Strictly for research purposes of course :D

I believe that's the first "can cooker" I've seen. Leave it to you to make one heck of a meal out of it. Excellent cook

Thanks Barb! Make a double batch or you'll have to hide them from Rich!

Thanks Chuck!

This can is from the Ogallalla Cream Can Company. It's the 2 1/2 gallon can. It's awesome. Also have the 5 gallon can. Rarely use that one unless I'm cooking for a crowd.

My grandma used to use a cream can for doing big family cooks, usually 4th of July. Corn, taters, shrimp, sausage, crawfish boil. Dump out on the table and go to town!

Outstanding cook Case. My favorite kind of meal. Weather pretty lousy here too and I'm loving every minute of it! Thanks for the biscuit recipe.

Thank you Cliff!

Had the last biscuit tonight with a couple eggs, sausage patties and some of the leftover gravy. Super tasty!

I waited all day for this! Breakfast for dinner! A few weeks back I made ten pounds of breakfast sausage patties. Fried a package up. Two eggs sunny side up. reheated the leftover biscuits and gravy. YUM!
