I will just leave this here

I did not realize that Weber made a "Compact" Traveler grill.

Yep, I've seen them at Fleet Farm and also Farm & Fleet. They lean on the Q technology (heavy cast iron grate with built in burner tents) and large oval shaped single burner. Only the body is stamped steel that is porcelain coated like a kettle

Thought about picking one up on the used market but the Q looks like a better design to me. I guess it depends what your needs are and what you want it for. Also on the used market I can get a nice Q for free or cheep and a nice used traveler or compact traveler is rarely under $200 in my area.

Actually from an ease and convenience standpoint the Traveler is way better IMHO

Interesting Larry. I haven't tried one out personally I just checked them out on display in the store.
The Q was never really adept at "traveling" the cart was always a Rube Goldberg affair. In the Traveler Weber designed it from the frame up to be a "Traveler" not a stationary grill that is "portable"

For close to the same amount of money as a Q2800N+ I would definitely go that route but like I said before it depends what your needs are and what you want it for. I prefer smaller grills that aren't bulky and oversized for home use but if you wanted to fold your grill up to haul in a compact car I could see considering one of the traveler grills. Id still go with a Q1200 for travel. Considering it's still plenty compact and looks to me to be better built. I can definitely see why the traveler would work well for some people.
