are you talking about their first attempt at a griddle (pictured) or the slate? I thought the slate was a pretty nice unit.
The one pictured. I've posted that I did in fact see a Slate and it's a pretty solid piece. Not worth the ask IMO, but, then I am super critical of companies charging a lot of $$$ for goods they off shore and depend on their brand to get top $$$ for. (for the record not just Weber FWIW)are you talking about their first attempt at a griddle (pictured) or the slate? I thought the slate was a pretty nice unit.
I never knew they made a 26" PlatypusInteresting:

Oh, I missed it because I misread itIn the description, he indicates that is a mod he did.
It’s not an uncommon platypus mod. I think it’s pretty cool. Not a huge fan of the red legs. If the bowl and lid was a little bit cleaner, I could see $300. Secondhand 26’s aren’t very common. Not really a bad job. But I am not sure it is worth $400.
Being in Kenosha, you aren't that far from the northern suburbs of Chicago. I have seen tons of great looking candidates in that area over the course of the year. But that is just too far for me unless it is something really special. This looks pretty decent, tank included, for anyone looking for a 3000 (though the manual he has says it’s a 2000)

Weber Vintage Genesis 3000 Gas Grill - general for sale - by owner - craigslist
Used Weber Genesis 3000 gas grill in fair condition. The grill has three burners and also a side burner. The grill works fine, but the igniter needs to be replaced and will need a good cleaning....chicago.craigslist.org
Couldn't agree more. I think the handle replacement only makes sense... it is what was probably the only thing available at the time. And being all 3 being authentic Weber parts really solidifies that is was cared for.He probably added the side burner later, upgrading it to a 3000. While we might chafe at the use of later wheels and handle, this one has obviously been cared for.
That 3K is a really nice grill. Appears even the cross bar next to the tank is in decent shape which is great. Identical to the one my dad had. 2000 converted to 3000 when I added a side burner for him
