I will just leave this here

Same here Josh. I just hit it every so often when I go over to visit. She doesn't use it a whole lot, so not a big problem, but disappointing at the same time.

In my later years in life, I have gotten to the point where I try very hard to keep from trying get people to do what I think is best. It is something that I wish I had learned earlier in life.

I was all for the ss route when I got my first Q. But after use and understanding the rationale of the ci from Larry and others, I quickly learned that ci grates are best. Of course Bruce and Larry have old ss grates that work well but are no longer available. I keep em well lubed-but have also had some good luck using a Yoshi copper mat-it actually works!

Yes they do work fairly well though, still not as well as the original CI ones. Honestly when I do use the Q for actual "grilling" that I want to look and taste well grilled, I throw the CI grates on it. Although I now with the Ninja I don't even bother with the Q anymore.

Poor forgotten Q! Well, I actually have gotten in on the Ninja myself, although just a "plain" smaller one. I have already done some burgers (great to easily add some smoke when I am cooking just for me) and used the air fry function to make some Chick-Fil-A knock-off nuggets from Sams (in FIVE minutes) for my son and me when my wife and her aunt were experimenting with something that didn't look good to either of us. Both the burgers and the nuggets came out very well, although I overdid the first round of burgers and have much to learn. I am looking forward to trying some more healthy options like chicken breast.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE TWO YEARS MAKES:

Larry, do you remember your first reaction to the Ninja Woodfire?

I was pretty skeptical as well, but not any longer.

Yep, guilty as charged. I was one of the biggest skeptics of the Ninja Woodfire series. Checked out Tom's video again, and a few more. And placed the thoughts on the "back burner". Then I had a literally brand new one pop up on FB Marketplace. And made arrangements with the seller to meet. At the time (given the prices of them then) it was too cheap to pass up. And pulled the trigger. Fully expecting it would be "ho hum" type experience. But, it totally caught me off guard

Pretty clean actually. He said its been inside his storage locker for the last several years and just wanted it out of there. I will take a bit of a deeper look when I get it home.

I have 4 of these with the flat paneled bottoms that are all pretty solid. I have to spray bedliner on a bumper here at work and want to spray a few of them (to minimize the wasted material). I have also been considering modifying the cabinet or adding the cross supports to use the wire racks on the bottoms (similar I believe to the fat frames).

I have some spare time to clear out some more flips. Trying to decide where to start. I'm thinking the Genesis ii grills first. They are pretty clean and in good condition on the outside so just mainly in the cook box. Maybe if I clear these out and don't pick up more I can start working on my classic Genesis keeper grills again.

I have a few Ninja products and they seem very well made. I guess the Woodfire durability will show over time, but so far it seems like a great device. I'm somewhat of a skeptic when it comes to electronics durability of these devises over time, but who knows? I did break down and got a Bullseye to accompany my new Q, so I'm good for awhile, and still have the practically new A as backup. They keep advancing the Woodfire's though, and they are tempting!

Just a heads up to anyone that may have ordered these igniters from Amazon that I posted on sale. I ordered two of them and one of them showed up without the nut and one of them showed up without the washer. So clearly somebody purchased a bunch of these to take the hardware out and then return them. I hope it wasn't someone from here. I'm keeping mine anyways because I have plenty of nuts and washers around that I can use but if you don't you may want to return them.
