I'm actually considering doing a high level broilmaster build and looking at SS tables vs doing custom wood flip tables on factory SS hardware. This would be side tables and a front table. I'm leaning towards the wood but if you know IPE Ironwood Brazilian Walnut you know it's about as heavy as steel, fire resistant, rot resistant. This will last very long and it won't get all scratched up like SS which drives me nuts. I don't really see a better or best between the two. For me I think it just comes down to preference. I definitely will think on it and consider my options. I'm definitely not hurting for another project but looking at what's out there I can make a very nice broilmaster for a reasonable price. I'd be making it as a keeper to try out and if I decided to get rid of it I could always pass it on. I've definitely used SS tables and wood tables also and see the pros and cons.Having owned Weber grills with wood slats and Broilmaster with stainless tables gimme stainless all day every day. Easier to clean, keep looking nice, much lower maint and much less headache. In the end when you just want to "use" an appliance nostalgia and looks are out the window IMO. I want decent looks sure, but overall I want ease of use and ruggedness. After all what you put on the table is the real star
