I will just leave this here

LOL, I don't think I have seen that before. Having it set up that way would interfere with the slide or clip for the swing table. You would think that would make the owner realize something is wrong.

If I was ever going to restore and broilmaster this one might be the best candidate I've seen and it's close by. Clearly only been used a couple times also has the thick SS grates that not all of them have.

It would be cool to take these stainless steel side flip up tables remove the plastic tops and retrofit wood slats. Or even better it looks like they have stainless steel option for replacement table tops

Josh, Broilmasters are well built, American made grills. Simple construction. The only real weak link is the igniter. Those stainless “waterfall” grates are a very cool idea allowing two levels in the smaller size and three levels in the larger version.

That price is high, not because they aren’t worth that but because sadly they don’t hold their value. I see way better prices here in corn country.

They made ones with wood slats earlier on. That’s the one you want.

As far as prices here I have found them much cheaper or free but for me personally I am happy to spend a little bit more money to get one in like new condition that's not beat up and needing everything replaced. I don't go crazy over free or cheap grills weber or otherwise. The ones that get me super excited are the ones in excellent condition all original not messed with in the few hundred dollar range.

Can you teach me? lol. I just love the freebies because they’ve always seem to have a couple of good pieces that I can stash away.

I’m not opposed to dropping $40-50 on the right one. But it’s got to be pretty nice.
Well I have plenty of good parts. And plenty of parts grills in the free to $60 range. I don't have much interest or need to pick up any more like that. The ones I would be interested in are like my green 1000 LX I picked up for $200 that had only been used a couple times and then stored in a barn. Every part on it after an easy cleanup in like new condition. I've had a couple other Weber's that were very close in condition to this also. These are the ones I'm on the lookout for and interested in.

But also something to keep in mind is that I'm not trying to fix them up to make money flipping them. I can totally understand wanting to start with a free Grill to try and squeeze out profit instead of buying one for a couple hundred dollars. I'm just building keepers.

Absolutely Bruce and I totally understand that everybody has their own methods and ways of doing things to achieve whatever they're trying to achieve. I absolutely respect that and believe there's no right or wrong way to do what we do. If a person is happy with what they're doing and it works for them then it's the right thing to do.

Having owned Weber grills with wood slats and Broilmaster with stainless tables gimme stainless all day every day. Easier to clean, keep looking nice, much lower maint and much less headache. In the end when you just want to "use" an appliance nostalgia and looks are out the window IMO. I want decent looks sure, but overall I want ease of use and ruggedness. After all what you put on the table is the real star
