The grease drips from the front of the lid. No, we don't eat greasy food...steak, hamburger, and ribs. Run a paper towel under the front of the lid and you'll see.I've never quite understood why you need a grill mat --- especially for Webers...... others, maybe. Where is the grease leaking/dripping from?
My only issues have been when you hang tools from the hooks (tools get hung on a leftover frame OFF the deck but within reach) or when you clean the grill and chunks of crud go flying. I will concede the occasional spill does occur, but that would more than likely miss the mat anyways.
