I will just leave this here

Free cookbox
Advertised as a newer north south burner cookbox but looks like a an old 3 burner east west burner cook box. Hard to say if the picture is wrong or the description. Some people are easily dumb enough to post a picture of a completely different cookbox then what they actually have. Too bad it's not a 13 bar deep box. I'd pick that up in a heartbeat.

Around Thanksgiving time, I put a bunch of hinge pins and various other grill hardware in a small cup with the Members Mark grill cleaner in it. I totally forgot about it… this stuff is incredible! 🤣 and that is solid chunks of grease, grime and carbon. Kinda gross. But kinda cool.

IIRC the "real" Viking is Made in USA. Also IIRC on a real one it actually shows on the S/N tag as "Made by Viking" as opposed to "Produced for Viking". But, it's been a VERY long time since I came across one.

I could not even hazard a guess on that.. The ones I've come across (both real and or not), have been so utterly destroyed by grease fires that real or not they weren't worth my efforts
Perfect thank you!
I originally thought a commercial grade SS grill would be virtually indestructible but the more I look into them the less impressed I am with their longevity. Maybe I'll stick to Genesis X000. I know I can build them to last past my lifetime.

Well the reason(s) I declined (even on "real" ones) is mostly expense. When you have an owner who literally did nothing to maintain, and then finally let the grease mushroom cloud take over, the results are completely devastating. To where the heat was so intense I found melted gas manifolds, valves into blobs of molten "stuff", heat tents literally burned through, knobs burned off, and so on. So really all that was left of these things was the stainless steel body. Sure you could buy all the components and rebuild but, likely (given Viking prices) would cost more than the grill would new. So, in the end all you have is a huge pile of 304SS scrap. I am not a scrapper. No clue even how to do it, let alone I certainly don't want a "junkyard". So I passed. But that grill in your photo? It sure looks like a really nice unit. A great size, and if a true Viking could be a great find

Yah, that price isn't bad if it is just a clean up and flip, but if you have to start replacing parts, it will get real expensive.

I like your strategy of watching and waiting to throw out a lower offer. If it isn't too far away, it might be worth a trip to see it in persona so you can get a good idea if it is worth pursuing at all.
