I will just leave this here

I have the hardware for the shelves just not the hardware for the bottom. I have some durawood I could use for the shelves it I was to choose to, but I do not have the hard-to-find grease tray if that were the case. He listed it for a $80 thus the reason it is not selling. He offered it to me for $50. I wonder if it is missing the back bottom cross member which cannot be seen from any of his pictures. It does have a nice Red Head lid. I do not care that much for the woodsy handle.
Definitely ask him some questions and ask for more pictures. If it has catch pan and grease tray and you have everything else you need it might be worth it.

I think the rear bottom crossmember is there, with a bit of it showing to the right of the cookbox coming off the left back leg.

If it's only a short drive, once you're there price may get flexible with no other takers.

Older redheads are becoming harder to find, so if you want to add one and it's nearby...

It's hard to put a price on a vintage Weber in someone else's area. In my area I can get some pretty darn good deals. Now that I have several when considering picking up more of them they need to have something special about them. If I lived in the area where vintage Webers were rare or much harder to come by I would definitely pay a bit more. The value in them is definitely there IMO.

Vintage Weber's are rare in my area. I have picked up a few in the past but never kept one. I have a burgundy and green lid from a couple, but now I was thinking I may want one for myself. I go back and forth. Reason I am considering it now is because I am down to one keeper. I have only seen black ones come across cheaper and they are few and far between. I do not think I would fork over the $50 though if it did not have the grease tray.

Availability of free or cheap 1999 or older has really dropped in the 2024 and 2023. In 2021 lots of people were moving, cash wasn't as much of a concern and if I had space and time to fetch them I could have easily picked up a few dozen.

it is rare to see a redhead or a blue lid in any condition. I'm not watching as closely but a couple of years ago they were falling out of the sky like leaves in autumn.

Wish I’d have delved into this habit, errr hobby earlier 😢

@Bruce and
@LMichaels
You guys may get a kick out of this.
After I defended USPS I ordered a vintage Bench Vice (Reed 204 R) from New York shipped to Washington. It was supposed to be delivered on December 20th. I ordered through OfferUp app and have to say OfferUp was great to deal with. After the package didn't show tracking update from 15 days OfferUp refunded me and paid the seller. It started moving again lol.

Blue is very rare in my area. Still see some redheads and, of course, black lids. There's a nice maroon right now that I wish was closer and I had time for.

Yah, sad sight. But, you know, if a guy just wanted a good grill for really cheap. He could rip the rusted bottom out and maybe cobble in some kind of floor and then just use the thing. Probably get another ten years of good cooking and likely, that grill will go another ten years. But, it is also natural gas which limits the market a lot. Either that or it looks like a decent parts grill. BUt I am thinking that guy would be lucky to get $25 for it. After a week on the market, it may have a FREE sign on it.
