There was one of those in Avalon (26 miles off the California coast at Santa Catalina island) but I haven't decided if it's worth swimming out there to get it.

Oh, never mind...someone else bought it...

Love the color against all that stainless. I also note that open cart. Very interesting.

I have lots of questions about that cart/frame.
No sides, no doors, and rounded tubes???
I have never seen rounded tubing like that on
any Weber frame.

First generation summit is the only Weber grill I've seen with the round tubing frame sections. Jon Tofte's summit restoration thread gives you a pretty good idea of how these tanks are constructed.

Yes, the 1st Summit does use thick round tubes for several frame parts.

Although most of these have a closed in cart, they were also sold with an open cart. No doors or back or sides. They did, however, have solid 304 stainless bottom trays that the one listed above seems to be missing.

Is a 1st Gen summit like this worth $75?

Not to flip, but for personal use.

Just asking for future reference, since I am not currently in the market.

I do like the idea of refurbishing these classic old Weber grills to give as gifts to friends and family.
