I will just leave this here

Huge coincidence here. I got this auto search notice from Craigslist:

I thought someone was selling a Genesis Silver and some kind of Weber charcoal grill. At a price of $2000, I had to know what exactly they were selling but the CL add did not give any other information. So, I went to Facebook and searched "Weber Labs" and up pops a link for someone selling Weber Labrador Puppies. I just thought it was a huge coincidence for the guys CL add to match a Weber grill add so closely with two completely different items.

That’s pretty funny - Weber labs has a charcoal Labrador.

And a silver Labrador.

Depending on how they breed them, is a Genesis Labrador on the horizon?

When I clicked the link I got this

My Facebook knowledge is limited.

I know marketplace, and I joined a few Weber grilling groups.

Someone welcomed me to one of the grilling groups and I responded with a thanks.

My one and only Facebook post, lol.

Ok if found Weber labs under posts.

The dog that just gave birth to the litter of silver and charcoal pups is named “Cinder”.

I've never seen puppies when searching for weber on CL, but this one showed up today.

seems the meta data in the location includes weber

Would this be a good choice for a refurb project? I like the way it looks.

Those are great grills. The only reservations I have is that it is only a two burner and that it is a cabinet style that is very prone to rust in the bottom of the cabinet.
If you are sure that you only need/want a two burner instead of the three burner, then that is fine. As far as the cabinet goes, just make sure it it is not a rusted out mess before you commit to anything. Having to replace that bottom piece and possibly the side and back peices could become financially unfeasible. If the cabinet is in pretty good shape with a minimal amount of surface rust, then that is a feasible fix with some grinding, sanding and repainting.

One other thing to consider is that the LP tank seems to be on the wrong side of the grill. I would check that out to see if there wasn't some kind of modification to the gas delivery system.

Looks like the hose and hanger are on the righthand side of that 2 burner. Maybe it's a tank just stored on the ground.

Personally, I like the three burners vs two.

Three months ago I got my $25 Silver A, found this forum and started reading and learning. After coming close to picking up a rotted out Silver C project, I came to realize what I really wanted - a stainless frame, solid cabinet and left and right tables without a side burner. I saw this on FBM and contacted the seller over a month ago with no reply, so I moved on.
2005+ Genesis Platinum B - Downriver from Detroit. Yeah, he wants a lot for it, but my Genny shows more signs of use in four months than this grill does in its whole lifetime.

They got back to me this week after having a problem with FB Messenger. Knowing this was my ideal keeper grill, I decided it was worth the hour drive to check it out.

The Good
The cabinet bottom is solid with just a little surface rust and a dent, sides and back are perfect. The lid liner is intact and rust free. Grates and porcelain flavorizer bars are almost new. Burners, crossover, igniter, grease pan and even the warming rack are in good shape. The hinge pins slid right out too.

The Bad
One valve is a little hard to turn.
Three out of the four frame extension spot welds have failed, so I have to figure out what size and type of drill bit to use on the SS.
The lid has a number of horizontal scratches from misguided cleaning, so I have to figure out how to best fix that.
The control panel seems to have a slight warp, looks like an easy fix. The original cover is falling apart.

The Platinum B is now parked next to the garage awaiting spring attention. I paid a little more than I wanted to, $210 with a pair of full tanks. I'll be watching for a green lid with a pinstripe in the meantime, maybe gray. My wife likes the SS lid, so I may stick with it to help make the case for keeping both the Silver A and this beauty for the long run. I did promise to complete the new gate project before rehabbing my unicorn. I'm lucky Chris started this forum and so many members contributed to my education, including how to justify two great grills to my wife!

Those are one of my favorites, and although the cabinetry is definitely an issue, I think the closed in look makes these look more “substantial” and not like a second-tier grill.

I have been using a very similar 2-burner as my daily driver for the last two years. I never dreamed it could get so hot and cook as well as it does. I use non-OEM cast iron grates in the summer and GrillGrates during the colder, wetter months.

I did a few mods and swapped a Skyline hood on to the same body as the one you posted:
