Wow. There must be a lot of variation in the food at different Famous Dave's. The food here in the Detroit land Famous Dave's is fair at best. It is generally too salty, the chicken is always too dry, you can tell the pork is way over done (likely from being cooked and then re-heated) and the brisket is like roast beef. Trust me, I'm no food snob and I'm not saying my food is great, but I can easily put better BBQ out than FD. There are a couple places around here that are good (like Slow's), but FD isn't one of them. Having said that, i have ate there and would again, but it's more of a place I tolerate in a pinch. As was said, it's a chain and I understand that they have to work under that reality, but I'm surprised to have people on this board say it was good food, let alone that it was better than home made. Maybe in Germantown they got the pit master from the Commissary and are working some magic but that doesn't appear to be the case in Southeast Michigan.
