Hot Wings around the Vortex

i went to Walmart, bought a stainless steel bowl and cut the bottom out of it. Works like a charm, and it cost me a staggering $6.35. Will it last forever? I don't know, but if anyone is on the fence, $6 and some change is a lot better then $45 for something they may not like or use.

It looks pretty interesting but, I'm "frugal" too! Someone said in another post about using a SS dog dish with the bottom cut out. The PVC fence that the bank put in next door won't support my weight so I'm just in the "think zone"!

I just took delivery of my Vortex (medium for my Performers). I can hardly wait to try it out. It looks like chicken parts tomorrow evening! I'll report my take on it (God willing and the creeks don't rise:rolleyes:). I'm really lookin' forward to it!

I just got one as a early father's day gift. I wound up getting the small (kinda wanted the medium.) I mainly wanted it for chicken and such so I think having the extra room will work out better for me on my 22.

Dustin. You'll have no probs using the small vortex on the 22 for chicken. I used the medium on the 22, & there was plenty heat left after the chicken was cooked after an hour. I'd load it up just below the top of the vortex.

If you can buy it, I say buy. I do not have that option, so this is not original

Great invention and a very useful accessories for Weber kettle. I really recommend all.

I am VERY interested in the Vortex for my Weber Performers. Which size would you recommend. The Vortex site suggests EITHER the small or the medium. I am leaning towards the medium.

Next question, who has the best price on shipping? Any suggestions here would be appreciated as I know of no dealer in my area. The shipping quoted seems quite high (yeah, I am cheap but I prefer the term "Frugal").

These questions may help others, too, who might be "on the fence" about picking up ANOTHER grilling "must have" tool:rolleyes:.

I just purchased the medium-size Vortex from "Island Outdoors" and the shipping cost was $1.99.
