Here is my 2025 grill that i will be restoring, Genesis 1

Well, I didn't get to my steel guy but I did take my sled in to my mechanic guy for maintenance.
These Z bars are in remarkable condition.
The tank scale is very clean and it great condition.

I think Bruce did for me, I can't remember now, 1986ish

They made Genesis 1 grills from 1985 til 1992. They had wide slats from 1985 until 1988. It looks like your grill has the narrow slats. Based on that and the condition of the grill itself, I would say yours is from a lot closer to the end of the run than the beginning. There's no way of telling for sure that I know of, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a 1992 model.

They didn't until the Genesis 1000 came out, the wheels are the easiest way to tell the difference. Now, that doesn't take into account someone who replaced the wheels on their older grill with the newer style wheels later on.

That seems highly unlikely, I don't think the average Joe6pack would care what style of wheels his grill has

I don't think anyone would do it just to change the look either. Replacing them because they were damaged in some way makes more sense. Besides, it was just a hypothetical.

Have a look at the end caps and firebox to see if you can find casting dates. Looks like a pie with a year in the middle. Easiest to find on the end caps.

I was trying to recall where I saw it actually showed a number stamped in the ring of the casting? I feel like it was an oldie, like 85/86?
