This will be my 3rd no expense spared restoration.
My lovely wife let's me do one a year, this one won't cost neer as much as the first two I did.
I might get the cookbox and lid sides powdercoated with high heat powder, depending on cost, I know it's no expense spared but I still want to spend the money wisely.
I will paint the 3 burner knobs black, like the earlier Genesis 1s had.
Jon Tofte is sending me a metal propane tank guage
that the first Genesis 1s came with.

I'm not going to get into any big hurry, coming off my SS Platinum project, I can proceed with caution 😉
This should be very easy compared to the last 2 I did.

Even though it was missing the part Jon is sending me, is it still a Genesis 1.
I really missed your advice/opinions/knowledge in my SS project.

Getting the cookbox and lid sides powdercoated with high heat powder will come down to price.
This grill will never be used by me.
The burner knobs are in great shape as is the whole grill.
It would of had to have been covered for most of its life to be in this great of condition.
The cookbox and lid sides have all ready been sandblasted.1000008703.jpg

I asked him one day if he can stay busy 5 days a week, his response was he could stay busy 7 days a week🙃
He drives all over to businesses doing mobile sandblasting but then you probably thought that 😉
He blasted my items while I waited, he didn't want any money, his exact words were "you over pay me anyway"
I gave him a 20😁

I may have to make a trek to EauClaire with some cook boxes 🤔

Are you going to powdercoat the frame on this one too?
Yes, the frame will be powdercoated satin black, I think that's what the original color was, someone correct me if not.
I am thinking of having the drip tray and grease tray holder re porcelained by Jeff in Missouri.

Someone is making those new now Mark. I think they are about $75. BBParts.com

Bruce, not for a early Genesis 1, the slide out drip tray is one of a kind, as in super rare.
If you study my picture, you will see the grease tray holder laying on the cement in front of the pull out drip pan.

Oh, yah, I forgot you have that early style drip tray. And in the tradition of keeping it original, I guess the newer style won't suffice.
