Here is my 2025 grill that i will be restoring, Genesis 1

Yes! Last time I did them I poked holes and microwaved them for 7 minutes. Sprayed with spray butter, and coarse salted them. Wrapped in foil and put them on the warming rack of my 330 for about 25. Skin was so good. Wife didn’t eat her skin… so I did. Was nearly perfect.

You would be surprised how fast they will cook in a gas grill. You are probably cooking longer than you should. They are supposed to be cooked until they hit 205 internal temp. But a lot of people cook them much longer. I usually cook them on a warming rack at about 350-400 ambient temp. If you like the skin a bit "crunchier, you can put them on the regular grates for a while.

I never wrap taters. I nuke them on the tater setting in the Panasonic M/Wave. Then toss with EVOO, S&P and thyme. Roast until crispy skin on the grill. Perfect every time

I shipped off my drip tray and grease catcher to Jeff in Independence Missouri.

I hadn't heard from him in a week so I texted him about the condition of my trip tray(it looked rough in a few places)this was his response.

"Good afternoon Mark. Many apologies as I meant to message you yesterday. Yes I looked at it.
We will make it look pretty again."

If Jeff can make the slide out tray look pretty again, I will be so overly excited 🙃

I know, I've been dragging my feet on this build but I've been busy doing rehabs1000009765.jpg

What is the cost on doing that tray?

Great news, Jeff from Independence Porcelain Enamel in Missouri texted me that my slide out grease pan and drip tray are complete.
The parts should be here before Friday, I'll give my opinion on how they look.

I know it's been awhile since I posted, I've been kinda dragging my feet on this 2025 build.
I've been real busy with refurbishing and selling my Weber grills.
Now that things have slowed down a bit, I think I'll get my butt in gear and start devoting some time on my Genesis 1.
