If you don't have a good memory, don't bother arguing with your mate.. You won't get your facts straight.

Yea, it was from a while ago... I remember reading it first some 18 or so years ago...
The thread is legendary in the world of discussion forums!
And... it has made an entry into the slang dicktionary:

Never think that household projects are done! Just got to the last stages of the kitchen and now DH wants the back room redone. Remove and replace the two sadly deteriorating French doors has quickly escalated to tear out the whole damned wall and re design that! The nice part is, I do not possess nor intend to own the tools and have a cabinetmaker buddy with the chops to read do this in days, it would take me a friggin month! Oh, we will lay some of the basics for the 10’x16’ deck that I had envisioned the day we bought this house!!! Strange how things seem to happen!

Do you buy butter in a tub, like Kerrygold? Well, we save them. We buy those little corn on the cob in the freezer section and those tubs are great for putting the corn in.

And also for bacon grease or any greasy leftover liquid/oil. I keep it in the fridge till almost full, then pop it in the freezer overnight and put in the trash next day.
Much more better then dumping down the drain.:)

Anything that's remotely solid at room temperature should never be dumped down the drain. My apartment outside of Chicago (ground floor,) ended up nearly getting flooded through the floor drain in the mechanical closet due to one of my upstairs neighbors doing exactly that. The main drainline out of the building (6", IIRC,) was nearly completely blocked. The complex had to hire a jetting company and cleaned all 32 buildings.

Yep! My Grandfather and my Parents owned apartment buildings in Chicago. I spent many, many hours rodding drains for tenants.
A few pots of boiling water poured down the drain usually fixes that.

I repeat myself, “Never say household projects, are done! “ when the back wall project was almost done, sweetest wife in the world poked her head out the door and said, “Should we go ahead and build the deck?” Then the deck was built! Now, I’m trying to figure out where to put all the crap from the back room remodel!
I’m glad I built the hillbilly hearth! There will be plenty to burn!

I had the same thing happen to me. You weren't living in Bolingbrook in 1985, were you?;)

If your memory starts to go as you get older, WHOPPEE!!!!! Look at all the money you can save by reading all your books over and over again. lol

So far I have read over 40 of Stuart Woods, Stone Barrington series, (over 10 more to buy). Last week I reread #1. It was like reading it for the first time.

Sometimes I think at my age my brain power couldn't start a piss ant's motor scooter. That's one of the reasons I have a refrigerator in the garage so when I go out there and can't remember why I just pop open a cold one and sit at the work bench and decide what to do next.

Ha-Ha I think DH does the same thing.

When you are making up your menu for the week (of course you do that, don't we all? lol), don't forget to set 1 day aside a week for cleaning out your refrigerator.

I don't know how this happens. Most everything DH cooks he cuts back to make just enough for 2 people, AND WE STILL HAVE LEFTOVERS TO GO IN THE FRIDGE. 🙄 And the next thing you know, DH is saying " the fridge is full again".
