Among many things, today I am thankful for the community here, past and present, from whom I have learned so much over the years.
A few pics from the feast today....
Picked out some libations:
Pretty sure I picked up this "ice the turkey breast" trick here some years ago:
Made my base for gravy with the heart and neck (added drippings from the turkey later):
14.5 lb turkey was done in 2.5 hours at 325 (about an hour earlier than predicted.....brined the bird in the basic brine):
Everything was quite tasty, and we get to do it again with the rest of the family on Sunday!
