Happy 100th birthday Kingsford Charcoal! If I had known I would have baked you a cake! Or at least smoked you a brisket or grilled you a burger!

Joan, IIRC, it was Henry Ford who was looking for a way to utilize the scrap wood left over from frame construction for his early cars.

That’s that story I had heard too. Ford and a guy named King who liked to “camp out” together and they were experimenting with what the best fuel was for their camp cooking fire and the product was borne!

I've been using charcoal other than Kbb for awhile now.
Today I opened a bag of Kbb for a steak and potato cook using the vortex.
I bought the bag during a HD sale last year.
What I noticed was the light up smoke is blue and and wood smelling.
No billowing white smoke with the distinctive Kbb smell.
Any one else experience this?

I still get the white smoke but I think the 10 bags or so off my KBB I still have from the sales at HD might be at least 4 or 5 years old. It would be nice if they fixed the horrid white smoke problem.
