Grilled Rib Eyes

Picked up this bag for 2 bucks last weekend...

Decided to fire it up using the Santa Maria Grill to burn some rib eyes.

After I opened the bag, I found another small plastic bag with chips of wood inside. Tossed those aside.
Here are a few pieces of the lump...

pretty large chunks... well, I dumped and filled the Weber charcoal chimney with this stuff,
placed one Weber Starter Cube beneath it and placed a match to it.

unreal.
after the smoke cleared, it burn fast and extremely hot.

That's a fantastic cook. Strange how that lump smoked like that. You beer was in danger of smoke flavoring
 
Great way to cook those. Looks like that hot flame did a beautiful number on those ribeyes.

Sides are right up my alley!
 
Good Golly Miss Molly, that looked like a coal burning locomotive pulling grade in the Rockies!
Maybe why the bag was 2 bucks eh.

Eyes, gus, and 'shrooms turned out fantastic!
