Goodbye Butcher Paper Roll

Mine usually last 2-1/2 to 3 years.
I have sometimes used the paper to keep my countertop clean when I season or do messy tasks.
I use the Treager tube I bought years ago and just keep refilling it.
Our kitchen doesn’t really have a lot of pantry storage so storing the tube vertically helps.

Andy, tell me about this Traeger tube!
Space is a premium here too!

So how many briskets would you estimate that is over the last 10 years?
Not as many as I would like, but a ton of briskets. I used it for all kinds of other stuff too, but I'm surprised to it took 10 years to get through it. I have some Franklin BBQ branded butcher paper now but it's not nearly a big of a roll. No one has noticed because it's covered, but the the roll is sitting on top of my Franklin smoker, the other secret to Franklin brisket I bought in 2021. Turns out the secret to Franklin brisket may be hard work and repetition.....

Timothy I bought this Traeger tube at Ace Hardware.
It housed their fancy printed pink paper.
The darn thing cost something like $32. a good 5-6 years ago but the tube is kinda cool.
It’s like 2-1/2 - 3 inches diameter by 24” tall with a nice removable top cap.
Fits perfectly standing up in one of my taller cabinets.
I can reach it by hand but my wife uses a grabber tool to reach it.

I’ll have to take a look next time I’m out that way!

How long was it; 150'?
Back then it was super hard to find. I bought a 1000 ft. roll. It seems like the smallest you could get was maybe 800. Now you can find it at the grocery store and Walmart no problem. I bought it from POSpaper because that was the only site that you could just buy through the web interface that I found. I think Chris managed to get his from the place in Austin that supplied it to Franklin. I want to say it was ABCO. Webrestaurant store was another option.

Last one I bought was from Reynolds Wrap came in a box like foil but with a sliding paper cutter.
I see Weber sells some branded with the kettle logo.

Seems we've been using the wide butcher paper for cat toys as much as anything else. I've actually stopped wrapping brisket, with good results.

I've gotten the rolls from Webstaurantstore.com (thanks to someone here several years ago.....)
