Thoroughly enjoyed my first martini in weeks yesterday...
held back for a while after finding out there are 125 calories in 1 ounce of gin

then readied a coupla brats surrounded by Italians (mild on the left, hot on the right)

those brats were like 9 inches long:eek:
fired up the 26"OTG and pulled four morning-fresh ears of corn out of ice cold water

the cobs got a 15 minute head-start of the sausages...

still keepin'm in order to tell them apart (i.e. hot - mild - brat...) 'til they're done...

then served with some salsa overum & cheeses underum with smokehouse beans opposite the corn

The hot Italians had a nice bite to them... bought these at Ray's Butcher Shoppe in Greenfield Wisconsin

Jim, good thing about the martinis is that after 2-3 of them you don't care about the calories anymore.:)

Hey, there's a good side of everything - that's probably about 25 less than whats in a bottle of Miller, so I'd say you're making sound life choices! Those Italians look amazing!

Nice cook Jim!

Ya had to say that didn’t ya, the 125 calorie thing. I love martinis (gin only) now every time I have one I’ll be thinking there’s another 125 calories I really shouldn’t have. But once in awhile it’s nice to keep reality at bay with a good dry martini and some nice salty olives floating in the pool.
Oh very nice cook too.

Thats the way to do it my friend. Made them last week for my guests, thank God they only live down the block. Brats look delicious served like that

Ill take a plate please, and i want some of those Martini glasses where did you get them?

nice cook jim! I love sausages off the grill. if you'd have tossed some kraut on them i'd be drooling right now.

Man those look fantastic!!! It has been forever since I have had any sausages or brats, I think I might have to break that streak!

#1: According to Google, there are only 73 calories in one ounce of gin. That makes my martinis 219 calories (plus the olives at 15 calories per piece) and about 15 calories in the proper amount of gin (1/10 oz).

#2: Not my quote, but I like it and it's accurate: "The key to any good meal is to liberally sauce the chef."
