That would work. I'm not worried about it. Maybe in 30 years I'll take it apart and shine em up again
Free checked bag with my frequent flyer benefits. It will easily all fit in a suitcase. I'm cheep so I don't want to pay for shipping Plus I'm bringing tools there and back. I can handle a couple suitcases no problem. Are you going to bring all that stuff on the plane? I think I would mail it to myself and cut down on the hassle.
I guess as long as they don't hassle you about the contents of that suitcase you're good then!Free checked bag with my frequent flyer benefits. It will easily all fit in a suitcase. No problem. I take guns sometimes and I figure if I have no problems with that I'm probably good.I guess as long as they don't hassle you about the contents of that suitcase you're good then!
Pretty sure you take guns with you everywhere you goNo problem. I take guns sometimes and I figure if I have no problems with that I'm probably good.

I usually only replace the thermometers now for these reasons even though they aren't very expensive. 1) condensation inside of it. 2)just doesn't work anymore.3) face is faded. Otherwise they clean up like brand new with some fine steel wool and simple green.View attachment 104073New Weber temp gage just showed up in the mail. Almost forgot about it. Not sure I need it but I want to be prepared.
@Steve Hoch you're probably wondering why I didn't just have all the things shipped to that house in the first place. I have trust issues. I want to make sure I have everything I need.
The wood is in excellent condition. Would be a shame to waste it. I'll sand them down and restain them. When I reinstall the slats in the Z metal I'll replace the screws with new stainless steel screws.Pretty sure you take guns with you everywhere you go
Nice collection of stuff to go to AZ. No slats made up yet?
Good call! Thank youFrame end caps?
I usually don't replace them. As you mentioned they usually clean up like new. Now that I'm looking at pics of the Jr. It looks off but either way I want some spare parts there like these extra burners and igniter. This Jr. May potentially be one of my mainly used grills for the rest of my life. I haven't decided which 1000 I will pair with it yet for the long haul.I usually only replace the thermometers now for these reasons even though they aren't very expensive. 1) condensation inside of it. 2)just doesn't work anymore.3) face is faded. I thought you were going to do them and take them with. That’s why I asked. The wood is in excellent condition. Would be a shame to waste it. I'll sand them down and restain them. Oh yeah I remember I did consider doing that. I decided to just do it there.I thought you were going to do them and take them with. That’s why I asked.
Those vintage utensils are spectacular.I think I'm getting close to having everything ready that I need to bring to AZ.

I still want to know how you get the cook boxes so clean and and get all the nooks and crannies so clean! You are too kind to Tim!
I just take my time and slowly learn how to do more things as I go. I continue to listen and learn form kind helpful knowledgeable people here. Also I always try to give back and help others I meet on my path in life however I can. This continues to be an excellent place to learn and teach and grow.

Hey Josh,A variety of different size wire wheel attachments for my DeWalt impact.
Also like I said above I'm not in a hurry. Just taking my time enjoying the process.
This Ryobi set that they sell at Home Depot is by far the best that I've tried. I've tried some other brands from hardware stores and some cheap ones off of Amazon and they just don't last near as long as this Ryobi set. $20 but last time I stocked up they were $15 each on sale for the multi-pack.

Also after trying a less powerful impact gun I realized how much work my DeWalt XR is doing for me. Makes it alot easier.
Sometimes when I'm done I wash the aluminum down with muriatic acid which removes oxidization and makes aluminum turn white. I learned this in my youth from when I detailed semis for cash on the side. When I would polish aluminum on semis I would wipe it down with muriatic acid first to remove oxidization. Makes the polishing/buffing process go faster and then I would wipe off the remaining polish with a towel sprinkled with baking flour to really bring out the shine. Which is all irrelevant to this but that's where that came from.
I have also used muriatic acid to clean masonry over the last 30 years which is why I always have some on hand. There was a product I used to use 30 years ago called Alumabrite. I believe it still made and sold. Main ingredient fluoric acid if I remember correctly. It's been a long time but I believe that was a little bit more mild. Can't remember if I've tried anything else.Hey Josh,
Muriatic (hydrochloric) acid scares me, particularly in contact with a very reactive metal such as aluminum.
Wouldn’t something more docile like sulfamic do the same job in a little more time but with lots less risk?
All during my employment I dealt with corrosion and this combination is one I would have not wanted to deal with.
