For Valentine's day we decided to skip the crowds at the restaurants, pick up a half bushel of oysters, and head to the beach for some raw oysters and drinks while we watch the sunset. We had a bunch leftover so decided to make a couple po' boys; one with fried oysters and another with softshell crab.
A couple dozen oysters and the crab ready to go. If anybody needs an oyster knife recommendation, that red one is a Victorinox 4" Boston. I really like it as an alternative to the family heirloom that's next to it.
Fried the oysters in cornmeal, and the crab in a mix of cornmeal and panko. Sliced up some lettuce and tomato, and added a spicy mayo spread (mayo, sriracha, and horseradish).
Your plate.
Thanks for looking.
