Friday's spiced up chicken

Howdy folks...I whipped up some chicken for some friends tonight since we needed to do some planning for a wedding meal I'm cooking for in May...I made food...they brought booze!
Here's some starter beers...we had a Belgium theme going!

Chicken rubbed with a spicey rub I found in one of my BBQ books...indirect with some apple wood.

Some corn added with the same rub...both had melted butter as a binder!

I got off on my timing in the beginning and let the coals go too long so I tossed both the chicken and corn on direct for color and finishing temp!

Pretty good stuff...a bit spicey for my little guy but he ate anyway!

Nice cook Morgan... Plated pic looks good. Mind sharing the spicy rub you made?

Sure Tony...this was picked up out of "the BBQ bible"

2tsp salt
2tsp black pepper
1 1/2 cumin
1 1/2 paprika(I used smoked)
1 tsp cayenne
3 tablespoon melted butter

Mix all the dry stuff..put chicken into a bowl or I used gallon zip locks after cutting some slits into the thick parts of the chicken..add the rub and butter and toss till mixed up...grill indirect till ready(I hit it direct at the end for a bit of char)

Used the same for the corn..

Good stuff hope ya like it!
 
Nice save on the timing mishap, Morgan. Great lookin' meal. And where the heck are you getting corn that looks like that in Alaska?
