First Cook On the Genuine Weber Kettle Gasser

Wanted to cook up a whole chicken for use in a couple of different recipes later on in the week.
Just seasoned with Weber’s Kick’n Chicken.
Decided to do this one on my official honest to goodness Weber 22.5 propane kettle for its first cook.
This puppy rocks! One hour 15 minutes done to perfection. Perfect tasty crispy skin, moist meat and no clean up.
Gotta love it. You can even smoke with it.

A big thank you to Stephen R for this not available in the USA conversion kit. This will really be great in the fire season

Have a great week folks

Tell us more about the Kettle Gasser. I couldn't find anything about it on their web site, including a search for part number 8506.

Thanks,

Jim

The Weber 8506 is available only in Australia I believe, but isn't available here in the USA. A great forum member Stephen R sent it to me as a gift for helping him get some Weber parts that either were unavailable or super expensive in Australia.
He did that because we have fire restrictions in the summer due to the 10 year old drought here in Arizona. Which includes charcoal grills, but propane is okay. The nice part is you can convert the kettle back to charcoal in about 5 minute's.
But like I said the thing did an fantastic job on that chicken.
Here's a link to an Australian web site that sells it.

Nice alternative to the stuff you usually do in the kitchen also. I bought a Camp Chef propane stove for that reason. When it's 110 outside and about 85 in, even with the air running, it's brutal to have to boil water or any other stove work in the house. I've moved it all outside on the camp stove. Yours is a classier way to do it. I like the idea of having that flame enclosed and the ability to cover. Very nice Rich.

That's interesting. We were thinking about getting a camper next summer. I've been think that it's a lot to take with you all the time; kettle, small weber gasser and WSM. That might combine two of them and possibly just use the kettle for smoking too.

Thx for sharing...

That is way cool Rich. Very cool, great first cook. That's why I'm buying a good gasser, crispy skin BBQ chicken :)

Never seen such an item before.

Speaking of gas, I have a large Sunbeam propane grill, and I find that its specialty is - chicken.

Thanks for sharing, Rich!
