First cleaned it up - removed rust and painted the bottom rack and the gas tube bracket with silver hi-temp paint. The kettle screws had some water sit in them and were beginning to rust so replaced them and the bracket mounting hardware with galvanized flat top bolts.

Wings on - love the charcoal baskets and the gas assist lighting, and the space! A pack of wings barely fit on 1/2 of the 18.5.

And dinner - Frank's Red Hot for me and the wife gets honey mustard. Love the 22.5!

Wow! Looks new. I'm always trying to find a used performer but no luck so far. Your wings look awesome too. Nice job on your new toy!

Great first cook! The Performer Platinum is the best grill I've ever owned - and I've owned big stainless gassers.

Alan;
Congratulations on a great restoration of that wonderful Performer! I LOVE my Craigslist Performer!!

It looks like you know how to use one, too!!:D

Keep on smokin',

Very nice cleanup on that CL find, makes cooking with it even better. I want to find another performer of this same year area I love charcoal much better than gas.
