Father's Day T Bones

My family asked me what I wanted for Father's Day dinner and I said I wanted to cook them whatever they wanted on the grill. They wanted steak so we found some T Bones on sale for 5.99 per lb. and had a great dinner.

Here they are getting happy in some marinade.

Started some potatoes on the other grill with a turkey breast that has nothing to do with this post. It was cooked for lunches this week.

After about an hour in the marinade I started the kid's steaks. Seared them for 3 minutes a side and then cooked them indirect. Total cook time around 15-18 minutes. One chunk of apple wood for a little smokey flavor. Then started Kim and my steaks, same method (the kids ate before us). The fired up some vegetables in my weber dish I got last year as a gift from the family!

And here we have a couple of plated shots.

It was really a great meal. If you're looking for that beautiful charred outside with the red middle then these steaks aren't that. I seem only to be able to get that when I use my cast iron griddle. But if you want tender delicious meat so tender you can nearly cut it with a fork then this is it. Great meal spent with my favorite people in the world!

Thanks for looking! Have a great week!

Two thumbs up!

Any time you can cook the entire meal on the grill is a good time.

Great Father's Day cook Robert, plated shot looks excellent. When Barb and I do steaks I only like a light char for some grill marks, very much like yours.

Robert, fantastic cook everything looks delicious. Looks like Fathers Day was awesome at your house.:)
