My better half is going across the state for a few days to spend Easter with her family. So we had a early Easter dinner today.
Never had tried a Cooks ham. Thought we would give it a try.
Getting ready to DR. it up. Laid it on top of some of Bobs bacon.
And ready to inject it with this injection:
Honey, brown sugar, REAL maple syrup, Pineapple juice & cherry juice.

On the Weber; BTU's Jealous Devil lump with 2 small chunks of Merlot wine Barrel from Fruita woods'
What a unique smell.

It was all guud. Cooks ham was okay, but we didn't think that it beats the Hillshire Brown Sugar cured that we like.
But this one wasn't brown sugar cured, just hickory smoked.
Still the meat was tender & flavorful. I would give it a B+ A-.
BUT, the gravy was outstanding. It gets a A+.
Would buy this brand of ham again.
Thanks for lookin', Keep on BBQ'n
Have a good week & nice Easter everyone.

Killer early Easter dinner Russ!
Nice grill area too!

Thanks for the bird shot, looks like a finch, but different than our goldfinches.
Our males have gotten their summer yellow feathers in the last few days.

Perfect Easter dinner Russ. Bet it was delicious, sure looks like it too. Probably lots of leftovers too for some great sandwiches. I envy your grilling area also.

Awesome Easter dinner Russ, looks fantastic and I'm sure it tasted that way. I'm doing a Costco ham for our Easter dinner. Look ham and the left overs.
