We always let the kids choice thier birthday dinner. This isn't that big of a thing to my older two, but my youngest, she thinks about this all year round and throughout the year it changes often. So this year I told her she could have a whole birthday dinner week. I think that just made it harder. I think we finalized (in pencil) our birthday week menu.

Sunday, May 2: Ribs, Corn on the cob, and pasta salad

Monday, May 3: Cream of Crab Soup

Tuesday, May 4: Oven made Pizzas

Wednesday, May 5: Chicken Potpie

Thursday, May 6: Tri Tip, foiled Potatoes, and Asparagus

Friday, May 7: Rotisserie Chicken (Tim's garlic lemon recipe), Calico beans, and oven roasted potatoes

Birthday day, Saturday, May 8: Vortex wings and legs for lunch and then I turn the torch over to Nana for Nana's Sheppard's Pie.

I will keep everyone posted on any changes to the menu, and will try to take some pictures throughout the week.

Michael, may we have a little bit more info.? Maybe your daughters name and age? That is if she is still young enough to not mind you telling her age. lol

That sounds like a great birthday week menu, Michael, and plenty of opportunities for leftovers. Looks like Saturday afternoon will be your time to let loose of responsibilities and crack a cold one (if you partake).

That’s really cool, my granddaughter (turning 19 while you all are partying in northern IL.) used to really love cooking then the interest waned. Now, she doesn’t really care like she did but, her (15yr. old same week) brother just wants to know there is plenty!

Some like more great family time together Michael. She will probably have fond memories of the birthday week meals and being given the choice of her favorite meals.

That is adorable! I'm guessing she's Dad's little shadow. She's going to have a great week!
You - will definitely be ready for that well-earned break on Saturday afternoon. :D

I love bbq, love to cook bbq, and love to treat the MRS to great cooking but it sure would be nice for someone to cater to me for once.....or for a week. :p Have fun sounds great. Lets make this the birthday week cook thread with pics too!

My b-day week girl said they were the best I've made, I said that is just because it's for her week. But my son then agreed. Then I really got to dig in. They were right. It is the wood. I love the Fruita Wood.
